Grab big brushes, your favorite colors, and a sense of adventure. Join us for two days of exploration as we discover more freedom in big, bold work. Enjoy music and movement as you let your body express how you feel. Experiment with a variety of shapes and marks. As we focus on how we feel, we'll learn our preferences and allow both sides of our brains to work together to create from a place deep inside.
Drip, mark making, splatters. personal hand-cut stamps and stencils will take a painting from good to great! Abandon yourself to play!
Start with small drawings in sketchbooks,
Practice mark-making with charcoal and water-soluble media,
Discuss color options and find out what makes our heart zing.
We'll start our large canvases, and be ready to roll on Day Two.
We'll put what we've practiced and discovered on Day One into form on large canvases. You'll have lots of time to paint!
We'll discuss works in process with each artist throughout the day.
At day’s end there will be a gallery tour to view each juicy new work of art.
3 rules: 1. Keep your brushes wet. 2. Don't buy canvases larger than will fit in your car! 3. Have fun!
NOTE: Students must be able to walk up one flight of stairs. The studio is on the second floor of the building with no elevator.
